Galdakao, Basque Country

Galdakao is my hometown. I was born there and I have lived there all my life. Although the exact date of its creation is unknown, is clear that was in 14th century.

Galdakao played an important role in several conflicts as the First Carlist War. With the revolution of industry in 19th century, it also played a big role in industries. During the Civil War, Galdakao remained in the hands of the Republic troops until the 'Cinturon the hierro' was broken. Nowdays, its population is 30.000 inhabitants and the number is increasing.
The best thing you can do in Galdakao is to leave it or to stay in the mountains that surround it, where you can relax and breath fresh air.
